Hello and welcome to Aster's Asterisms! I am your humble webmaster, Aster (they/them)! I'm currently 21 years old, and I'm originally from Kekionga (Fort Wayne) on occupied Myaamia land. I am currently a junior at Indiana University Bloomington, wherein I'm majoring in Religious Studies, Philosophy, and East Asian Languages and Cultures with a concentration in Chinese. I hope to eventually go into grad school in order to research holy sites and pilgrimage in contemporary Chinese Buddhism, particularly at Mt. Jiuhua. More broadly, my research focuses on how humans seek to escape the mundane and emulate the divine, with all the pitfalls along the way. In my limited free time, I enjoy playing rhythm games, cooking, coding websites, journaling, and playing the lyre!
